the pri was working fine this afternoon. I had to replace a couple of 408 boards in front of the t-1 card. I also had to power down the switch for about 1 hour while they moved things. Ever since, the PRI has been down. There are no alarms on the card, but there are errors. RYG are all off and the mode is normal. the provider says the D-channel is up and so are the trunks. When I try to dial out, I get a fast busy. I don't even light up the yellow light on the card, so I know I am not even getting there. My errors say the d-channel is inop, but how can I double check it. Reset it? I have reset the board numerous times.

Did you do a Board Renumber? The 408s might think they are in the wrong slots.

did you put your t1 trunks in the PRI
lines/trunks > pri > b-channels > lines

did you add your trunks to the right pool
lines/trunks > pools

did you add your pools to the ars tables
tables > ars > sub a pools

it sounds as if the t1 is operational, and i would think the first or second item most likely.

If it was working before you swapped out some cards, then a Board Renumber should bring it back to life.

weird thing. Found out that the vendor set the protocol wrong. it came up originally, but failed once we did a power down. Once we set the protocol right, it came right up.
