Test a Firewall Global Policy 1

Hi all,

We are just getting started with GPO's here at my company the first one I am wanting to do is the Windows Firewall. I have the GPO configured how I want it, but I want to test it on a group of computers before I apply it to the domain, because as we all know if it goes wrong, its on me.

My question is how do you test it without setting up a full test environment, or creating another domain? I'm new to AD so any help is appreciated.

you can apply the GPO only to a Newly created Organizational Unit and move your computer into that OU. Then run a GPUPDATE from the command line and check your settings.
