Test 2000 to 2007 Conversion in a Virtual Network?

Converting Access 2000 in an NT4 domain to Access 2007 for use in a Windows Server 2008 domain. There were some "security level" issues reported by the dba. (dont ask me, Im just the sysadmin) Would it be a good idea to set up a virtual PC environment-Server 2008/XP workstation, to test?

Its certainly worth having a test setup with Office 2007 to try your code against, whether a separate computer or a virtual one though.
