Tesco ISP

Why is it that when I log onto tesco ISP, I get a connection, however, I am unable to surf the web using internet explorer. I know I am connected because I can dowload my tesco.net emails but nothing else.
Does anyone know why ??

I'm not familiar with that ISP but they may have a special config that requires you use their webbrowser or some other proprietary software. The first place to start is with their tech support. Also, I know Netscape has an offline button that tells the browser you're offline so it doesn't cause your modem to re-dial. If IE has something similar, it's possible you have it set to offline in which case it will not download anything.
