Ok, I have been studying infomation system design and we have encountered the problem that when using the theory of a ternary relationship it does not work in application.

When creating many to many relationships, this is impossible ie we can only create one - many relationships, with a junction table in between in order to make this work.

Is there any way around this problem. using MS Access 97.

Thanks

Listen to your Professor! He/She knows best. There is NO way to implement many-to-many relationships in relational databases, other than using the junction table. The many-to-many relationship is good for logical data modelling when you are understanding the system's requirements, however, on implementation, it needs to be converted via the junction table method that you have been taught.

It has nothing to do with Access. Access is just one of many relational databases.

Have fun, Cheers,
