I need to run 5 cable drops. Both ends will have a 12 port patch panel. I'm thinking of running a 25 pair cat5 cable instead of 5 individual cat5 cables. Are there any pros/cons to running the single 25 pair. Also if I run the 25 pair, how do i terminate the cable at the patch panel. The patch panels are standard 568B panels.

Cable Patch Panel
wht/bl port 1 bl prong
wht/or port 2 or prong
wht/gr port 3 gr prong
wht/br port 4 br prong
wht/sl ?????
rd/bl ?????
etc., etc., etc.

Thanks

Since you only need 5 jacks just use the standard bl, or, gr and br for jacks 1-5. If you want to try or 6 jacks keep the weirdness to a single jack and use all the slates on jack 6. You will have one pair left over (violet/slate).

If you have a PentaScanner or better let me know how jack 6 comes out...
