For some reason my terminal has started showing my hostname as dellc800 instead of G5.
Whilst this is a minor annoyance I'd be interested to know why!
I'm guessing it's picking up the hostname from our internal DNS and somehow that Dell machine has been logged in with the same IP as my Mac?
If I manually assign an IP to my Mac then I see the proper hostname. Setting it back to a DHCP assigned IP it stays as the proper hostname. However, overnight it has gone back to the dellc800.
The odd thing is that although I do have Dell C800 here, it's been unplugged and idle for the last week or so.
