Hi guys,

I have been a network support admin (jack of all trades...master of none) for a while, so I am currently working at a company where we are looking to use Terminal Services to access a key application.

So my problem is this, where do I start with TS for everyone...do they login to a seperate part of the server or just connect how we admins usually connect? And if this is the case how do I remove the ability to shut down the server?

Obviously it would be nice for someone to help me through but if there is an idiots guide that would be great too. I have all the licencing setup and just don't know where to start next!

We only need one username that everyone can use to connect as the app is a different login, is this possible?

Any help much appreciated!

connect how we admins usually connect? = yes
And if this is the case how do I remove the ability to shut down the server? = Utilize Group Policies to remove and lock down their access...but if you are publishing just one app, then you can specify by GPO to start just that application when they connect...and that will be all they see. if they close the app, it logs them off.

We only need one username that everyone can use to connect as the app is a different login, is this possible? = this can be done if you are only running that one app as stated above and you configure RDP-TCP connections to allow users more than one session. It will not work properly if you allow them desktop access.
