Question about licensing: ALL we need is Administrative Mode so that we have the ability to connect 2 sessions.

We've already installed Remote Desktop Services (previously Terminal Services?), but have done nothing with licensing, and now we're getting the pop-ups telling us that licensing has not been configured.

How can we be sure we're complying with the licensing requirements if all we need are those 2 administrative connections, and how can we prevent the pop-up from reminding us?

(Since our remote sessions are already working ok ex ept for this, we'd prefer to not "undo" anything f possible... just comply with the licensing requirements for those 2 remote users.)

Thanks...

Uninstall RDS/TS. If all you want is RDP access for management then you need to set that up via remote access.

Click START
Right-click on COMPUTER
Select PROPERTIES
In the window that pops up click REMOTE SETTINGS

Then configure the type of remote access you want and the permitted users/groups from that screen. There is no need to install RDS on Server 2008 or later just to get RDP access for server management.
