Terminal services on 2003 server

I have a 2003 server, with terminal services installed. There are 12 clients that connect to it via a web based remote desktop connection.
The client machine will start IE and go to a URL. The user will then be prompted to enter user name and password for remote desktop login (more like windows login).

Someone else setup the system, and I am trying to understand what they have done.
The server has the ip address: 10.2.97.238.
For simplicity, say I have 2 clients with ip addresses: 10.2.97.221 and 10.2.97.222. The first computer will start IE and go to: While the second one will go to
I don't understand this. I was expecting that both machines would connect to same server address. (i.e.

Which machines have IIS installed? I suggest that .231 and 232 machines both have IIS running, these then "redirect" TS requests to the TS. Have you looked at TS manager to see whether the sessions are getting to the TS box?

The example you give is all LAN based, why not use the desktop client to access TS
