Hi
My PDC is a w2k server in the network. I have a new w2k3 server installed in my network. From Add/Renove porgrams I installed terminal server as well as the terminal services licensing options and activated the license for 20 users.

Can I install both terminal server and terminal services licensing in the same server.?

From my understanding of the docs which I have read terminal service clients will stop working after 120 days if it is not able to find a valid license.

Now when I launch terminal services licensing..I get an error saying
"No Terminal Services licensing server is available in the current domain or workgroup. To connect to another server click connect.."

Could some one point me in right direction?

I solved the above error from this link
I guess I am ready to roll out the terminal services.

Could some one explain how do I proceed further interms of security policies etc... ? Is there any terminal server log info.?

I am thinking this way - Install the applications in the terminal server and Setup a new user logon in the AD and provide the same to my company sales people.

I need some help here friends...I setup terminal services and the licensing also in the same w2k3 server. But now I when I go into manage my server..in the home page I get a message saying
No terminal services license server was found on the network.

But I have my terminal services licensing activated.

Any help..?

Do you really need Terminal Services or do you just want to connect to the server to administrate it?

Sorry to ask. But it will determine how to best solve your problem.

What are you using TServices for?

If you want to use it for apps then you need to have a reg hack that will allow the license server to be on the 2000 server and allows the TS2003 box to connect to the server.

Works a treat i will post a link to the problems i had.

This server is for accessing a application for sales users on the road.

Thanks for the link and will check this and post back.

Also one more thing...When I click on Start - Administrative Tools - licensing

I get an error

To Open licensing, you must be an administrator of the domain which license information is stored for your network. If you are the server administrator use the licensing option in control panel to manage licensing on this server

I am already logged in as administrator as a local machine account. Hope this is not a problem for terminal services.

I did the reg hack..but I am confused here..
Let me start from first and give more details

SERVERPDC - My w2k server PDC + which provides user cal licensing.

TERMSERVER - member server, running w2k3 server , terminal server as well as running terminal services licensing.

I did the reghack HKLM\...Parameters\LicenseServers\

and entered TERMSERVER and rebooted the computer.

(should I enter TERMSERVER OR SERVERPDC..kind of confusing)

When I click on Terminal Services Licensing
It finds the terminal server and says

TERMSERVER - Activated
When I double click on the TERMSERVER now

I get a window with 2 lines..
Existing W2k server - Terminal Server CAL token per device - Built In - Unlimited - Unlimited-0
W2k3 server terminal services per user CAL token - open -17 -17-0

I cannot get the terminal server to issue a license.

May I get some help on my above post.

the reg hack goes on the site license server which should be your 2k server, reg name of your terminal server goes in to the reg hack on the 2k server.

so in my case i have 2k server as license server named mainsrv,

the TS box is called termsrv so on the 2k server input the reg hack with the name termsrv or whatever your terminal server is called.
