Hi all!

I log on to a Windows 2003 Server with Terminal Services and that Server has a connection to another network in which I want to host another Server, via Terminal Services (nested Terminal Services).

The things is now that I want to change password in the last Server I logged into. Pressing Ctrl + Alt + End will initiate the command Ctrl + Alt + Del on the Server, but NOT on the last server!! The response comes from the first server I log on to.

Anyone got any idea HOW I can send the Ctrl + Alt + End to the last server?

Do you follow me?

Best regards,

Andreas B

Is this in a workgroup or a Domain?

Sounds like you are in a workgroup. From the first server right click My Computer. Choose Manage.

Right click Computer Management(local). Select Manage Another Computer type the name of the end server.

Now select Local Users and Groups. Expand Users. Right click the user you wish to change the password for and choose Reset Password.

If you are in a Domain, then changing the password from any server would change it for the entire Domain, thus changing from another server is not needed.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Regards,

Mark

If workgroup:
Right-click my computer -> manage -> local users and groups -> right-click username -> choose reset password

If domain:
Open Active directory users and computers -> go to the user OU the user is in -> right-click user name -> reset password. (as markdmac is pointing out, you can do this from any computer in your domain).

If you want to be a stubborn asehole (As I prefer to be :)) and you just WANT to send that ctrl + alt + del to your nestet terminal services window, then you can do the following:

Your local computer -> open a terminal services session to the first server -> from first server open a terminal services session to the second server -> in your first terminal server session (server 1) open the on-screen-keyboard (start -> all programs -> accessories -> accessability -> on-screen-keyboard) -> click on the title bar of the nested terminal services session window (server 2) -> then click ctrl + alt + end on the on-screen-keyboard on server 1.

This will let you send a ctrl + alt + del signal from server 1 to server 2 as you wished in the first place :)

Not that this is the easiest approach to it ... but if you are in some kind of environment where you do not have access to the local users and groups for instance, this will let you achieve what you want :)
