I'm trying to logon to my Windows 2000 VPN but I have to use the Administrator account to logon.
My user account belongs to Administrators and Domain Admins. Why do I have to use Administrator?

Also, Terminal Services are installed in Remote Administrator mode.
My goal was to have a non-Administrator, like a Power User or even create a new group, to have a few people be able to use Terminal Services to get in, without having to use the Administrator account.
I do NOT want them to be able to shutdown or restart the server. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't have to use Administrator to log in. Make sure that your account has dialin access.

If your Terminal Services are installed in Remote Administrator mode that is for administrators to perform administrative tasks only. Remote Admin mode only allows 2 users at a time as well.

Sounds like you need to reconfigure your Terminal services for Application mode (I think that's what it's called). That will allow non-admins to connect. That does requite that you purchase the license for the users to connect to the terminal service.

Between the ESP=ON and the RUM (Read Users Mind) upgrade, I'm ready to go.

Just FYI -

To run Terminal Services in application mode you will need to set up a licensing server, and activate it (this can be done online as part of the set-up process or later). You only need to purchase license packs for legacy (Win 9x, etc.) clients. Win2K clients have unlimited, free access.
