Hi Guys

I'm perplexed - I have a small problem with TS for a user.

Setup:
- Windows 2k3 SBS server and terminal server licensing server and activated.
- Windows 2k3 std server and terminal services running
- 6 TS cals installed and available.
- Users setup in Remote Desktop Users in the Computer Manager prog on the TS Server and in the AD login details for each user.

- All in the same domain on the same LAN.
- Both VPN tunnels are up and allow access to the servers

Remoter user1 'Mary' can access the TS server and her desktop through a VPN and RDC prog connection from home and from RDC on her PC at work on the LAN

Mary can also access Administrator through all routes too

Remote user2 'Lisa' can who works from home can also access administrator from her RDC on her home PC, but cant logon to to her own ID like she does on the PC in work on the LAN

Mary can logon to Lisa's account from Mary's home and the office no problem.

Lisa has checked her logon credetials and we have even changed the password to something simple in case, Lisa is an experienced user and logs on every day in the office no problems and collects her mail through Web Outlook Access.

Has anyone any thoughts please, I'm perplexed.

Thanks
Jerry

First, I would find out about Lisa's PC. What error messages is she receiving, if any from her home PC? How is Lisa's PC set up at home? Is there anything that might come up and bite, like FIPS enabled? Version of RDC? Have you seen Lisa's home PC? If she can access the TS from work, I would say that it's an issue from the other side, and not an issue with the TS....

Hi ftg

I dont know anything about Lisa's PC only thats its windows XP Pro and she uses NTL cable for her broadband link.

I do know that running RDC prog she can connect and log in as administrator for a desktop session, I might have left that out of the explaination.

This must surely prove all the connectivity is there.

The error Lisa gets is a like 'Unable to log you on, please chat the id and password and domain are correct and that caps lock isnt on - blah blah'

As I said we have checked all that we can and Mary can happily login as Lisa on Mary's home PC setup - so the account works.

Some difference between the Administrators Terminal Session and a users - is tripping me up, cant figure it.

Thanks
Jerry

Hmmm, that really is interesting. She is able to login from her home PC as an administrator, but not as a user (her account)....Are you sure she is using the drop down list of domain/local PC and choosing the right one? I don't think this is an account problem, but, a user problem because Mary is able to login as Lisa, and Lisa is able to login via Administrator. Might want to check with Lisa and watch her login....

Is she getting the message "can not logon interactivly"? If so then it would be a permission issue.
