What is the main use of Terminal Server ?

Is it for Remote Access - ie ) put an external IP on it so that users can log in from home ?

You can use it for that, but also sharing applications. We use for the reason of sharing apps like Office or another software we use. Or you can use it admin roll just to manage the server remotly.
