We upgraded our terminal server from NT4 to Windows 2000. In doing so we had to move the licensing server from to another server (PDC). We reinstalled the license packs but ever since we did the upgrade no new computers are being issued licenses. The original clients can still connect no problem. Is there anything I am missing here?

Thanks

Richard

Have you activated the license server?

Also, make sure you have enough licenses - one per client device.

Sometimes the CALs don't install properly, especially on win9.x machines. In this case, there is a reghack which MAY help. Obviously, make sure you're legally licensed and the registry is backed up before trying this;

Copy the key HKLM\software\microsoft\mslicensing from a known working machine to one that can't acquire a license.

Worked for me ;-)

Nice thought, but my problem extends to Win 2000 Pro machines as well. The license server is activated and we have plenty of licenses. Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

Richard
