I have a strange problem at the moment. I have a SQL server that is set up in terminal services remote administration mode. On this server is a program that users need to run. I have setup the connections to this server to start this program at logon so that only this program is started and nothing else. When the program is closed the session is supposed to end but does not.

Because explorer is not loaded the user cannot log out by themselves so I have to end the session through terminal server admin.

Any tips or advise on what to look for would be appreciated.

How is the session closed? Does it just close the terminal server, or log it off?

TS is a tricky thing, IMHO. When you start a session on the server, it spawns its own processes, and if you don't actually log off of the server, leaves them running.

Hi There

If you set up the remote desktop connection to open only a single program it actually is supposed to log you off the server as soon as you close the application. This is the problem - this specific server does not do this anymore.
