Hi guys, we are currently using Maximo but would like to start using Terminal Services to increase the speed to the server. I noticed that when I go to install TS it gives a warning that "programs already installed on your computer will no longer work and will have to be reinstalled".

Does that mean Maximo will no longer work? At all, or with TS?

Appreciate any help.

By indicating you want Maximo to run faster, does this mean you have remote users accessing the application? If it's on a local network, this solution will not necessarily help you.

Now for the other issue

"programs already installed on your computer will no longer work and will have to be reinstalled".

For applications to be hosted on terminal services you usually have to have terminal services installed first and then install your applications (by following your vendor's recommendation for installing under TS -- note not all applications are TS friendly)

I have about 10 users accessing the application (Maximo) over a WAN with a slow connection. Was hoping TS would provide a better solution.

If I install TS will Maximo continue to work even if it doesn't under TS? I can't afford to kill the application.

Thanks for the info.

Your best bet is to setup a separate terminal server and setup that TS to access Maximo and have the users access that. Making it a Citrix server would be even better so that you can just push an application icon to the users desktops and they don't need to access the full desktop of a TS which is always a bad idea.
