I am using Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server edition and I am wondering if there is a way to map a local drive so I can transfer files back and forth.

Automatic client drive mapping is a feature of Citrix MetaFrame.

It can be done with Terminal server by sharing the drive, and using the variable %clientname% in the login script.

E.g. if you shared your client's C:\ drive as clientc, and wished to remap it to V:\, the command in your login script would be;

NET USE V: \\%clientname%\clientc.

You could also use this principle for local printing.

Citrix ICA clients do not suffer from the obvious security hole that this method opens up, since local resources are natively remapped through the ICA client.

I hope this information is useful.
