Afternoon Guys :)

My published apps are now displaying the warning that the temporary license is about to expire in 10 days. The thing is i have an activated 2003 Server on the same subnet with 100 Per Device Cals setup and its allocated 54 of them already? I noticed that my own machine is no longer listed on the licesning server though...

I've added the LicenseServers key into the reg of both servers (load balanaced apps)and added a subkey with the NETBIOS name of my Licesning server (CTRX_LIC). However i dont think its making the slightest bit of difference.

Anyone know how to sort this one out?? It looks like its setup right by obviously something isnt right !?

Thanks in advance !
Steve

Is this message a Citrix licensing message or terminal server message?

The reason why I'm asking is because Citrix XP 1.0 you could install all your citrix connection licenses but if you didn't activate them...it would throw up a message warning of license experation.

Your thread doesn't say what version of Citrix you are running but I would double-check to make sure all of your licenses are activated in "mycitrix.com" web page.

Also, just to verify...you did add the hardcoded entry to "HKLM\SYSTEM\CONTROLSET\SERVICES\TERMSERVICE\PARAMETERS\"TSCALSERVER"...correct?
You might also want to add an entry with the NetBios name, FQDN name AND IP address.

Hope that helps.

Hiya )

Thanks for replying!

This error is a TS error - not a citrix one )

I'm running Presentation Server 4.0 on 2 x 2003 Servers, and i Have a dedicated TS Licensing server on 2003 also. I have hard coded the Licesning server on both citrix servers via the registry so they know where to find it. Bothe servers can ping and resolve the license server.

Earlier today i found that removing the MSLicensing key from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ (i think!) got rid of the error on my machine. I think the reason why it was coming up is becuase we removed an old licensing server and built this new one, so when the license expires it continues to look for the server that no longer exists !?

So i think in effect what i have done is got my pc to hunt for a new license server... its renewed now until january/february but i am unsure if the same problem will occur again ?

That registry key is where it stores the license information for each client.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MSLICENSING\STORE\LICENSE000

You can simply delete the LICENSE000 or the STORE key.
That way the terminal server will see you don't have a TSCAL license and it will issue you a new one.

Are you seeing a large number of temp licenses being issues in the MSLicensing Server?
