There are two questions:

-how to make user use central application (CAD program), but force user to use only his local computer to store data (A: or some folders at C: at his computer)?

-how to make impossible to all local users to start applications (eg. Windows Explorer) at server, and leave them only those applications what they need to use?

answer to suestion number 1: Citrix handles this for real but Microsoft suggests creating a share on the user's local hard drive where u want them to store the data. Then add a net use drive: \\computername\share to the logon script for that user or add it to the home directory setting. It;s kind of silly but the logic is sound. Like I said, Metaframe handles this because it allows you to do this through the user settings without creating the aforementioned share.

Hope this helps. As for the second, I am toiling with that myself. [sig][/sig]

The Policy editor can be very effective in limiting the applications a user can run. It has provisions for just that, built-in. Although I am still trying to figure it out myself, I have seen some NT machines setup so the only applications they could run were those on their desktop. If they went into the Start Menu, nothing would be there. As far as not saving files on the server, just don't give them write permission to any of the shares. Hope this helps.
