I was trying to install a terminal server APp mode on an existing 2000 file/application server. While installing it gave me a warning that some of the programs ( eg Symantec Backup exec and may other programs) has to be reinstalled or will be deleted.
Will I have to reinstall all the applications running on that server after I install TS
Please let me know
thanks
Sam

hi,
this is a default message.
For any program installed before TS activation,
Windows does not take responsibility that it goes.

The installation of a program in a TS Server, is quite
different rather a normal one. The way to do it is different:
you cannot run setup, but you must go in
Add/remove Application, and use Add program button.

What happens during setup, is very different
windows copies registry keys in different mode.

You have 3 choices:

1) renounce TS app on such server (probably late)
2) reinstall all: Win, TSApp, Applications( good but heavy)
3) ignore such message, and when a program does not go well,
unistall and reinstall it.

A program bad installed on TSApp, may not go if 2 users use
it together, or it has strange behavior in some situation.
If it doesn't go completely is better than strange ways.

bye
vic
