i checked to see that my remote control works,it works from my laptop at work, from other computers that are windows 2000 it also works, but at home i only have windows 98 an everytime i log on to it it says fatal exception. It connects, but it quits as soon as it does. Could u tell me if i have to fix some options on my home computer or in my servers?? or if it will only work if i have windows 2000 or higher

Did you load the Terminal Server license on your Win98 machine? If not you can create the 2 client disks from the 2000 Server.

Otherwise have you activated your Terminal Server licenses? You will need to do so since there is only a 90 day trial.

how i do that, i already got the two disks installed, where do i get the license from and is it necessary since i got the disks?

Terminal Server on Win2k has two modes of operation: 1) Remote administration or 2) Application. You only need to worry about client licensing if your server is set up for Application mode. Remote Administration allows up to two connections from any client. You can check the mode by opening the Terminal Services Configuration tool (Administrative Tools) and clicking the Server Settings node.

In either case, it seems unlikely that your problem is related to client licensing. Have you tried connecting from your laptop from home? Have you tried re-installing the client on the home PC.

yes i have, the laptop works great, all the servers i got work fine from the laptop. i think its my pc thats messing up, i asked another guy and he says it don't matter that my comp is windows 98, do u think my pc has firewall restrictions or something?
