Does anyone have a source that makes replacements of the old Western Electric wire terminal enclosures for house/f2 counts that are on most every apartment laundry & storage room wall? I've got a source for the ones that enclose one or two 66-type blocks, but there were larger ones with hinged doors, and ones with lift handles for larger house cable terms, too. I can't find those. So many apartments are in dire need of phone room makeovers, but finding suitable substitutes is tough. I've considered using structured wiring housings, but the entrance holes would have to be cut out to place existing cable loops into.

Ideas?

I looked in a graybar catalog and what you may be askin about is the BEP building entrance protectors up to 100 pr per box and boxes are stackable.

Hey,

I'll have to get you the manufacturer...

But we use lock boxes that go over pre-existing boxes that were roughed in during construction. They're designed to provide more space, and replace busted up enclosures.

I believe they're made by the Channel Corporation, you'll have to check them out. They're perfect size to replace most existing structures, and the fit right over, they work nicely.

If you have specs (manufacturer, model #s, etc) I'd like to know. I found a "Channel Corp" that makes outside pedistals, but I'm after the inside wire enclosures and terminals with hinged doors, snap-on lids, etc. They had one or two 66-blocks in them, or 25, 50 or 100 pr lugs for cable terminations.

Thanks.

They make terminal enclosures as well.

They use channel's plunger key, proprietary key that uses a special tool that expands two ball bearings.

I can't find their website at the current moment, I'll look into it more.

Try Marconi ( they've gone all kinds of stuff. i think they may have even bought out the Western Electric stuff that was mentioned earlier (would have been some time back though).
