I have to access various Octel 200s with different software releases. For most VT100 works via Procomm, but I get a lot of garbage on my screen when I try to access systems with a software rev of S.4.0.0.2, S.1.1.0-2, S.1.0.0-2, & S.3.0.1-2 using VT100. Any idea what emulation works?

Thanks

No, I get the same thing with Wyse 50, thanks.

I also have access to various Octel 200's with different software releases. I use Procomm Connections Version 4.6 on Windows XP. I usually use TVI 910 as the termeinal emulation. I just tried VT100 and I connected to a system at Release S.4.1 with no problems. I also use an external US Robotics 33.6 modem. If you are still having problems then maybe it is not the terminal emulation that is the problem but possibly the settings on the modem or maybe you are getting noise on the line???

We (TAC/Eng) always used Procomm w/vt100. We supported DIAL to S4.x.

Some connections just suck. If you get too much garbage, try dropping your baud rate down.

I seemed to have lots of garbage from Milpitas, CA to China, Australia, etc.

Domestically, here in the US sometimes the customers had bad copper lines as they were a bit away from their CO.

The worst was a little 200 that was stuck somewhere in the rain forest for a remote group. Had to drop down to 300 baud. Now that is slow.

Telnet is always preferred ;-)
