Terminal Clients unable to print. Please Help I need an answer fast.

Running Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services enabled. When logged in as an administrator I am able to print to a remote HP JetDirect Printserver which has a HP Deskjet attached to it. When logged in as a user I am not able to print. No error message appears, job goes into que and says it is printing but nothing happens. I know it has something to do with security or permissions but I am unable to figure out what. I really do not want to give my users Admin rights to the system.

You might try adding your users to the Printer Operators group. They will not have Admin rights in the domain, but can admin the printers, including adding and removing, purging, etc.

Thanks for the tips.

Actually I found a temp solution to the problem. It turns out that the newer HP DeskJet drivers (HP DeskJet 952C, etc) do not seem to work well under terminal services. Logging in as an administrator everything worked fine. But was unable to print when logged in as a user with no Admin rights. I installed an older driver, the HP DeskJet, and was able to print fine. Need to research this with HP a little bit more.

The good old DeskJet printers. I've only really had success with the 500 and 600 series.

I've had limited success editing the wtsuprn.inf file so that DeskJet890 = DeskJet690, and using the 690 drivers.
