Hi,

I have Sco unix 8.0. When i run my application through my non-GUI screen {Now Caldera says it to be "virtual terminal" (vt01,vt02,....,vt12) insted of its old designations (tty01,tty02,...,tty12) } i can not see the boxdrawing characters as they should be. Insted it shows some garbge characters.

I have tried with different TERM setting (ansi, scoansi, ibm) but it dosen't worth me.

Is anybody here faced this problem?

your help will be appreciated

Regards
Bharat

Yes, all the time.

The app itself may be at fault, or you may just need to look for other variations on ansi- for example, if this was originally OSR5 app, it may be expecting "ansi" to mean "scoansi" as it works on OSR5..

Look in /etc/termcap and /usr/lib/terminfo for various "scoansi" definitions- scoansi.old, .new etc may be there (I haven't seen Open Unix 8 yet so I'm not sure but things like that should be there). Also at386 sometimes is a keeper :)
