I'm trying to come up with a good solution for remote controlling some pc's so I was investingating Terminal Services and the Remote Control feature and I'm not clear on a few tings.
On my 03 Server I have made the server a terminal server, it's also a DC. I have another computer running XP logged into the Domain.
I thought I could remote control the XP client from the 03 server via terminal services manager, but when I open tsm on the 03 server i get a message that says "certain features such as remote control and connect work only when you run this tool from a terminal services session. When this tool is run from the console session, these features are disabled."
I click ok, and in the tsm window I don't see the XP computer, only the 03 server computer. I can do Actions, connect to computer and then I can type in the name of the Xp computer and then I can see the XP computer after that, but if I right click on the XP computer the "Connect" option is not an option to use.
So I guess I need to find out what the diff is between a client session and a console session. Thanks.
