Hello All.

I am having trouble setting up default file locations in MS Word/Excel using Term Services. Meaning, I want my users to be able to log into a term services session that fires off Word, then click the "Open" icon, or click Open from the file menu, and be at the point where there files are stored. I'm having a LOT of trouble doing this.

Thanks for any help.

You could do it one of two ways:
1) Via an AD Group policy - add the Word 2000 adm file - under file locations you can set a fixed place to open/save documents (ie w:\documents).
2) Run a registry hack upon login which could edit the HKCU...take a look at this MS article...it tells you which keys controls the file locations:

Hello mjbianco15. Thanks for the info. Isn't this something that can be done via the Term Services tab in their user accounts? I've tried using this, but it doesn't seem to work. I connect "G" to their data area, but it doesn't work.

This is not done in within Term Services tab. The registry hack to the HKCU can be done via a login script. Or you can create a Word 2000 AD policy and apply the policy against the OU that your terminal server resides.
