I am new to AIX and have a p series 640 that I need to install on. I purchased this server without a head because I manage all of my other systems through a terminal server. For my Solaris machines it is simply an RS-232 connector to the parallel port on the box and telnet in. Does anyone know the corresponding configuration for the 640. I just need to be able to see what is happening to the server via a term server connection and I should be set from there. Any assistance or recommendations would be appreciated as the installation documents are geared toward a server with a "head". Thank you in advance for your time.

The console normally goes to S1 serial port (DB-9), I prefer a IBM 3153 terminal, but we also use a Computone RAS for some machines which also connects to S1. Settings: 9600, 8, N, 1, if I remember right. Emulation is ibm3151, note it is not ibm3153. You can probably use a 25-to-9 converter with your current dumb term if it emulates properly.
