I'm cuurently using termilte to login to my sco server. The user TERM is set to ansic and the BBx term entry in the config.bbx points to ansicoe. It works great except I can't get a block cursor while in BBx. It's always an under line and manytimes hard to see.

I've tested Anzio with the same result, well actually worse results since I can't get anzio to appear nearly as nice as term on the screen but that may be an anzio config issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix term or get anzio to work better? I like the feature on anzio where you can blck closing a window using the "x" in the upper righjt corner since this can cause BBx file problems if you have files open.

I've had very good luck with Anzio and Putty for BBx. You might want to give Putty a try since it's free:

You'll need to play with keyboard and screen settings to make it work well in SCO. Here are some of the options:

Keyboard: Backspace = Control-H
FunctionKeys = SCO
Window: Translation: Character Set = CP437
Connection: Data: termtype=ansi (or ansicoe)

Thanks, I tried Putty awhile back but didn't try changing the settings. I try it again with your suggestions.

Motoslide,

Putty has changed since I last tride it and for the better.

Although it still doesn't look as nice asn termlite, it does a lot more and the cursor stays a block. If only they had a check to disable closing the window with the x.

You got a star! Thanks!

You can also do the following to get a really nce display if you have termlite on your system.

Goto to the windows font installer and install the display fonts from your termlite folder.

In putty:
Under appearance chang the font to pcterm

Under translation select the "use font in OEM mode only button"

It will now display as nice and smooth as termlite in bbx.

Thanks for the feedback.
I tried your changes and they work fine. It's good to be able to provide alternatives for our Clients. Some are quite picky about different fonts, and some fonts work better than others (especially if the PC has a flat-screen display).
