How can a temporary greeting be recorded and selected for the autoattendant by dialing in using the phone in Merlin Messaging 4?
I have no microphone for my computer, and the room the computer with phone access is in is filled with loud noise.
You can access the voicemail system from ANY phone - so go to a quiet office location to make your recording. Dial in to voice mail, log into the admin mailbox (0#), press 9, and choose the option to record a temporary message.
I believe the temporary messages option is under the automated attendants menu (3), pick the correct autoattendant number (usually 1), then schedule options (5), then Temporary Schedule (4). I believe you can only set one temporary greeting per autoattendant - and it is for the temporary closed schedule only - so if you the alternate greeting to play during the day - you have to set the temporary schedule to be closed all day. You can set when the temprary opening/closing is to take place and record a temprary closure greeting. At times not specified, the regular autoattendant greeting plays. Have fun!
Thanks. I went in that option before, but didn't hear where you could record the greeting. I went back in, and even though I had already set the closure times earlier with a PC, I set the times again through the phone. This later led to the menu about recording a temporary closure greeting.
