I though that if I ran command

Code:
# /usr/lib/lpmove prtA prtB

all jobs sent to prtA will be sent to prtB - It appears to do so only for the jobs sitting in queue.

What must I do so that all jobs sent to prtA are printed on prtB and reset it back to normal later?

I need this while a replacement printer is delivered/installed and not have to disrupt users' daily lives :)

Thank you all in advance for your assistance!

I'm not aware of such a utility. I believe you'll have to alter the prtA configuration to point to the same physical printer as prtB. This could be quite easy if it's a network (NPNP/netcat or lpr) printer.

"Proof that there is intelligent life in Oregon. Well, Life anyway.

How is the printer set up? If LPD then change the IP in /etc/hosts and then:
/usr/lib/lpshut
kill lpd daemons
/usr/lib/lpd
/usr/lib/lpsched

I copied /usr/spool/lp/admins/lp/intefaces/prtB to /usr/spool/lp/admins/lp/interfaces/prtA (after copying ~/prtA) so that same driver and IP are used.

I then stopped print scheduler and restarted it ... I have not heard back from my friend so he must be in doing OK. :)

Thank you guys!
