Hello,

Can I create TEMPLATES in CR ??
If yes, how ?

Thanks in advance,
Ram.

i have something common in header and footer part. so what i want is a template with just this and the rest should be variable.

also when i create any report it asks me to choose table(s). but what i want is just a template that can be reused. and only at the time of actual designing a report it should ask me for the ODBC/tables etc.

Currently, you can't create a report without tables.

However, you can create a report with one table, and then replace that table with the one you want later. Ken Hamady

if i do this my entire alignment of header and footer goes off. how can i handle this ??

Don't use the report expert to add and delete the tables.
Use the database menu options:

Add Database
Remove from report

If you use the RE or the "Auto Align" feature, it will mess with your headers and footers. That means that you have to do the alignment of fields manually. It would be nice if we could create our own Style on the expert tab, but we can't. Ken Hamady

say if i want to add a new SP to my report (template), i do add database and the SP is added. but to select the fields i have to got via report expert to choose the fields. can u avoid that in any way ?

Use the insert menu.
Everything that is availble in the report expert, is also available through the menu. Ken Hamady
