I went to the Microsoft site for some templates in Access. When I went to download one it said that it was "read only"
Is this the norm? How can I get so I can use it.

Templates are normally read-only, otherwise you could change and save them, and then it wouldn't be a template anymore...

right click the mdb.file, go to properties, and uncheck read-only.

Just let it go...

I re-downloaded the template and the same thing happened "Read Only". I clicked on "file" but the "save as" is muted. In other words I can't save it.

As pampers wrote "right click the mdb.file, go to properties, and uncheck read-only". After doing this, the "Save As" will no longer be grayed out and you can modify the template if you wish.
