Template pointing to shortcut ...

I want to point one of my template objects towords a template file. However I want to be able to use a shortcut to that file instead of the actual file.

I'm running on a windows system at the moment, but I'll be using a *nix server. Is there anyway to do this ? I've tried the obvious way of just naming the shortcut after the original file and pointing it there, but that doesn't seem to work unfortunately.

You could try symbolic links.
Linux has it by default:

http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man2/symlink.2.html

Win2000 and WinXP have different programs similar in use. However I prefer to use this for windows:

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Junction.html

As it works for both XP and 2000.

I was able to come up with a work-around fortunately. So I don't have to start downloading things to my windows platform.
