Access seems straight forward at first but take a situation where a client wants to have a single input form to input data into several different tables and it becomes very complicated. Yet, to me, it would seem as though a request for a single input form would be fairly common. Basically here's my problem, I need to be able to have a single input form that populates six different tables. All of this feeds reports that combine the data entered into the single form in different ways. Can you show me or direct me to a good example of this that I might use as a guide?

My client wants to have a single input form to input data into several different tables. All of this feeds reports that combine the data entered from the single form in different ways.

I need to be able to see all the data on this form, search any field using the Find/Replace button, use a drop down box to be able to choose values that may have already been entered into a given table, and enter in new values not currently in a given table.

Can anyone direct me to an example of something like this that I might use as a guide?

xeseus,

Access is NOT a spreadsheet. It is a full-blown relational database with application development capabilities (and a lot more).

You need to learn about relational database concepts, and VB programming.

That can't be done here in a single thread; you have to put some time in yourself.

Darrylle
