I recently set permissions up for everyone to have read and write access to each others folders and for each person to have full control of their own folder. Previously the everyone group had full control of all. I made the permissions change so people could not accidentally move or delete each others folders which which had been the case. I still need to allow people access and the ability to edit documents in each others folder. The problem is that lots of .tmp files from word docs being opened etc are being left behind as permissions for people other than the folder owner do not allow to delete. Has anyone had this problem before and know a way around it other than manual deletion? Thanks Adam.

The problem is that if the user doesn't have delete rights to the folder then when they modify the document they are unable to delete the temp file that word creates.

If you add the creator owner group to the folder this should allow them to delete any files that they create but not files that other users create.

Hope that makes sence.

Thank you. That makes perfect sense. I have just tested it and it works great.

I havwe noticed that when you give the creator owner group full control none of the check boxes are ticked on the ntsf permissions tab of a folder. But when looking in advanced at special they are all ticked. Why is this?
