I am bemused by this one I cannot get telnet to reach anything utside of my domain. Using Nt sp6 and a ExtendNet 4000 box as a internet server. The entries for TCP/IP settings appear to be fine but still not getting outside. Any clues anything adn everythng please

Perhaps you are connecting to the outside world via a proxy server or a firewall?

I am actually using the extendnet as the proxy and can connect to the internet fine via a browser and ftp, also getting mail delivered through it. But do not seem to be able to connect to send out mail by just using

telnet smtp.dsl.nst 25 connect failed comes up everytime

and even with other domains to go out

any ideas its driving me nuts

I do not know the extendnet Proxy, but the facts sounds like the smtp service is not enabled there.

Try to find out how to enable it.
