Hi,

I have a question, I used to use VPN client 3.6.3 to connect and then telnet to the outside interface of a PIX. But I have recently downloaded a newer version of client and am now unable to telnet to the outside interface once I have a VPN connection. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something different I have to do with the configuration of the PIX now that I am using the newer version of client?

Thanks

You shouldn´t modify the configuration. Can you test with a 3.6.X vpn client on another machine and see if it works? I would advise you to make sure your configuration is still working with the version you had before. If it is still working then I could be a bug in the new code.

Hi,

I tried it on a different machnine with 3.6.x, I made a connection with the client and was able to successfully telnet to the outside of the PIX. When I tried to use version 4.0.1 and 4.0.3 I made a VPN connection but was unable to telnet to the outside address of the PIX. I manage several PIX remotely I have been unable to telnet to any of them using 4.0.x, they each have different versions of PIX OS.

I have the line of config
telnet 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 outside

192.168.1.0 is the client pool network.

Well... if you are able to telnet to the outside interface with 3.6.X but not with 4.X, then I would say it´s a bug on the new release. Can you open a case with TAC?
