Telnet from 8300 to G350 Gateway

We are loading CM 4.01 on a 8300 and need to telnet into the gateway which was configured through the wizard. When we try to telnet to the gateway we receive "Connection refused" Has anyone else seen this

Try to telnet into the bash prompt of the 8300 then telnet to 127.1.1.11 (internal IP of G350)

Here are all the internal IP's

Stackmaster (P330) 127.1.1.1
G700 (MGP) 127.1.1.11
S8300 127.1.1.31

The Stackmaster address is of course not used in a G350

As a follow up to this;
Why would we not be able to telnet directly to the PMI interface?

With the latest version on firmware 26.31 avaya has disabled telnet and only allows SSH connections to the PMI and MGP ip addresses. Therefore you can enable telnet by entering in bash: ip telnet. This will allow you to telnet into you G350, G250 like you were able to before.

I have been trying to enable the telnet feature in the G350 with no luck. from bash I have no iptelnet option.I am succesful with the SSH or Putty.exe but really need to have the telnet function again. any idea of how to get that back?

Skip that post. I figured out you have to go into the G350 via SSH, putty or console etc.. and then type ip telnet and hit enter.

I would like to add, once you issue the "ip telnet" command, make sure you do a "copy running-config startup-config", so you won't lose it when your power down or reboot the G350.

ok cm4and cm 3.1.4 can stop telnet working login via putty on port 22
then type "ip telnet"
