Hi everybody,

I've got the following situation:

I've got a small LAN of 5 PC's all connected via ethernet.
I'm using 1 PC running Linux (incl. a firewall) to connect to the internet.
When I open a Telnet Session from one of my Win98/Win95 PC's to the Linux PC and open an internet connection via "isdnctrl dial ippp1" I'm almost immediately getting a "connection lost" on the telnet session...

What's wrong ? How can I prevent that from happening ?

Thanks in advance !

Regards
Thomas

Hi,

Might test that later to see if it does the same to me. I can't think of any obvious reason at the moment.

If you're telnetting simply to (re-)activate the ippp1 interface maybe you should try to use dial-on-demand instead. This is where an interface will be 'automatically' activated when it receives 'interesting' traffic. So if a win client tries to reach the internet and ippp1 is hungup, it will automatically dial out for you and establish the connection. See --> .
