Telnet and VBA?

Hi all,

i'm trying to build a sub that will use telnet to send an email. Does anyone have a clue as how to build this?
I've searched Google and Tek-Tips but the only solution i could find is using telnet.exe in combination with sendkeys. I was hoping for a more elegant solution
Perhaps using something called Win API (i'm at a loss there). I've been looking in References, trying to add it and look for myself but i only found Win TAPI (guess this is for telephone..)

Can anyone help me out?
