Depending on what application these phones are being used for. Same Answer. Need? None.
Uncompressed with all phones running all the time the BW requirement is about 600K.
Typical usage would hover between 2 or 3 phones in use simultaneously for about 250K
If your expectation of phone use is higher, then compression might be a factor, otherwise no.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.
