We are several revs behind with our Teleworker software we are at 4.1.28 and would like to go to latest 7.0. We are all set with the AMC but we can not go directly from 4.1.28 to 7.0. We need to go to 4.5 first but our Vendor can’t seem to come up with 4.5 does anyone have 4.5 stashed away willing to share? Much appreciated

How many users?

The simplest method is to reinstall and re-configure.

You only need 4.5 if you want to follow the upgrade path whereby the configuration is maintained.

You will also need various versions of MSL.

I would say that anything less than a couple of hundred Teleworkers would be easier done as a completely new install.

Teleworker software is obtained from the AMC by syncing the server after installing the correct MSL load and setting the AMC record for the version you want the server to use. 4.5.30.0 uses MSL 8.2.15.0 which the dealer can obtain from MOL. After installing the MSL and setting the AMC software level to 4.5 the server is synced to the AMC to download the release. Same process to go beyond 4.5. The dealer should know all of this.

Yes,
That was my first thought also but Mitel is screwing with us, since we already have Teleworker registered with the AMC we must go through the upgrade process. They are telling the Vendor we could get around it by paying as if it were a new install.

As long as your Software Assurance is Active the upgrade is free . There is also a free part number, 54004578, that takes the server from 4.5 to Mitel Boarder Gateway 5.1. From there you can go to MBG 7.x.. Of course the MSL will need to be upgraded also. MSL is available to dealers at MOL.

As Long as Software Assurance is active you can upgrade OR reinstall at will.

As SXwizard indicates there is a PN required to take you beyond 4.5.

In the past when I have done this I have just applied the free part number to the app record and then done a fresh install of MBG on the server and synced with AMC this works fine no need to actually go through the whole upgrade process unless you want to restore from a backup.

It will be faster to reinstall as other point out. You must however get the free upgrade partnumber applied. I doubt you are getting screwed by Mitel on this.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

I persuaded the vendor to input part number 54004578 so we could do a fresh install and after we got the right MSL installed and had to have them reset the hardware identifier we were able to get Teleworker running with the latest version. Thanks all for you input!

Sorry for forgetting about the HW ID reset. One of us should have caught that. In my case it's not an issue as I can reset it myself. Still should have mentioned it though.
