Hi,

I need to change the external IP of our Teleworker server - I know I can log onto the server itself and change the IP there but do I need to make any other changes? Obviously all the phones connected will need to be changed as well.

Thanks

I thinks that's everything if you're in Server and Gateway mode.

If you're Server Only in a DMZ there are some routing statements required.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

You have to do it through the native console, don't login as root and change address on the interface because it needs to change this in few other applications. Restart the system after changing just in case.

You may also have to reset the hardware id at the AMC. If you do make sure to deactivate and reactivate service link.

nytalkin, there is no requirement to reset Service Link when changing IP. Or may be I have overlooked it. At least I didn't reset anything when moved TW servers to different networks. Actually it is even possible to edit text config files in the system using root login to the Linux shell and restart "tug" service. License validation does not involve any IP address settings. Not recommended just because it's not the way how it was designed.

you could log in with root and run the 'console' command. this will open up the menu and you just select configure server. go through the setup and change the IP.

simple as that

Thanks for all your answers guys - this got put on the back burner for a while but its now back on - however its not just a move of external IP its a physical move - basically we have 2 sites - the one site is closing where the existing TW is and we want to move it to the new site - again is it just a case of changing the external IP as well as the new internal settings?
Also we are going to have to move our Ent Man as well - I knwo this isn't going to be as simple but how hard is it going to be?

THanks again in advance!

Phil

For TW server it's really easy. Just follow instructions. If your internal network will different you will have to go and change IP addresses in Ent/OPS manager. Besides that you will have to change IP of OPS man inside your ICPs. Nothing special, just time consuming.

In most cases MITEL will not limit your choice of IP addresses since no licenses tied up to addresses.

Hi Guys, update on this and some help please....

Basically we had TW and Ent Man setup on another site, the ip layout was 47.x for data and 48.x for voice with 2 VLAN's, the TW was on 48.240 and the Ent Man on 47.250.

This site has now closed and we have moved the Ent Man and TW to a new site where 10.x is data and 77.x is voice. I have allocated Ent Man a 77.9 IP and can connect to it fine, can connect to our MXe on 77.2 from it as well no problems there, however if I do a change on the OPS to an extension I get an error messgae saying that it cannot connect to ICP 3300 to check version...

It sounds like I need to either tell the 3300 the new Ent Man IP or tell OPS that it has a new IP?

Thanks

In controller registry form you have to specify OPS manager information

Check in the SNMP form it might be configured to only accept connections from the old ent mang IP address, if so change it to the new one.
