Hi Guys

Has anyone got a remote IP phone working through a Draytek Vigor adsl router / firewall? Mine is just hanging at the point of showing the Set IP and ICP address (external address.

Teleworker phone working fine through other routers

Not much help but I just got SIP trunking working on one of these. I had to turn off SIP_ALG on the telnet interface even though it was allegedly turned off. My provider explicitly requested that it wa sturned off.

sys sip_alg ? will give its present value. If its off it may need to be on...

and my apologies again for not reading the message.

just ignore me for the time being. Sorry again.

Sticking on this generally means the set cannot reach the ICP IP address (which is teleworker server in this case). Does it work from same circuit with different router?

Can you turn off strict firewall? its under fiewall/general setup.

All the packets, while transmitting through Vigor router, will
be filtered by firewall settings configured by Vigor router if
such feature is enabled. If the firewall system does not have
any response (pass or block) for these packets, such as no
response coming from web content filter, then the router’s
145 Vigor2830 Series User’s Guide
firewall will block the packets directly.

Hi guys

Thanks for the replies, bob cheese, yes it works with a netgear dgn 3000 ( although a dgn 1000 does the same as the draytek,)

Wireman, think I tried turning that off, does it need a reboot after disabling? Is their a telnet command to check that just in case?

Might have to set up wireshark to see what,s going on. Can see it,s checking the tftp and boot load ok, just seems that after that it won't connect.

Not that I can see but I don't have the up to date command list....reboots are always good despite what they say.

I've gat a funny one where a phone that has connected previously quite happily won't now its had its extn number changed...just won't register. Go figure.

Wireman

I know, one time I left it and suddenly it came in and then I rebooted the phone and now it won't!

Weird!

I ought to point out thyat my teleworker set works fine here through a draytek to a remote site. I assumed you were talking about a draytem that the blade is connected to?

No I was talking about the remote site with a phone behind it, not the head end.

Wireman, did you have to do anything on the draytek to get it working?

Nope, just swapped the Draytek in for a Zyxel that was stopping my SIP trunks from working. I guess the only difference is i am using the WAN interface rather than the ppoa one but that should not make a difference as the settings apply to all the interfaces.

Which vigor is it, mines a 2830.

Hi

2820

Plug the remote phone in one of the LAN ports and the dsl is in WAN 1

its not something daft like Vlans turned on is it? check in lan/general setup.

have you tried defaulting the router and making sure its the latest frimware? I do have sip_alg set off and am using wan2. can you ping the server from a pc on the router?
