Guys, i have been tasked with setting up teleworker for 5 users... have never done the training course or seen a teleworker set in my life - not that i am about to let that put me off...

After several days of reading tech docs i think i have everything set up that should be.. however, my phones dont seem to connect. Would anyone be som kind as to answer the following queries...

Some basic info....

3300 CXI - 192.168.3.100
APC Card 192.168.3.110

The mitel system is installed on our own internal network sits on the same lan as computers printers etc, and therefor is sat directly behind gateway/firewall to the world.

----------------------------------------------------------

When i press and hold the 7 key down when plugging my teleworker set in - the ip addres im putting in is the public ip address of the sonicwall router/firewall/gateway on our network... correct???

when port forwarding 22000 on the firewall - do i port forward all traffic to the address of the apc card or the mitel 3300????

I have accessed the server manager via putty and have ran an internet conectivity test - so i know the mitel can talk to the outside world - i just need to finetune the incomming.... all this stuff about server/gateway/dmz is abit overwhelming.

Any help/tips/points in the right direction would be very welcome.

Sorry to say that when using TW on the APC card that the TW application MUST run from the DMZ. If as you say, the DMZ programming is "Overwhelming" then you need to find some help.

I have implemented numerous TW apps in the Server and Gateway mode but when it comes to the DMZ I need a network designer.

I admire your willingness but this stuff is security related and you just don't want to guess at the solution.

I agree with Kwbmitel....and even if you do have you NATing and other network skills down...I've seen a lot of quasi DMZ's that the teleworker doesnt function correctly in.

If this is only for 5 users I would find you best whitebox pc with 2 nics and install MSL on there in server gateway mode. In server gateway mode you dont even need to touch your router or firewall. You plug 1 NIC on the outside of your network with a public IP (put a 4 port switch in between your router and the ISP). And plug the other nic on the inside of the netowrk with a private IP. The teleworker has a built in firewall to help manage security.

I know this doesnt sound pretty but if you are wingin' this, I think this would be the easiest roadmap for you.
