Hi

Would anyone know if its possible to run the above on one virtual MSL instance without any issues? in theory I know this is possible as its only a extra blade that gets installed.

Just need to have both type of licenses

we were told by Mitel that if you were trying to record TW sets, the SRC licenses had to be on the same MBG as the TW licenses. If you are trying to record LAN based phones, the SRC licenses had to be on a LAN based MBG, not network edge. so some sites have two MBG/SRC servers.

You don't really refer to it as a MSL instance. Mitel Standard Linux ( MSL ) is just the base OS. The product is either MAS or MBG running on MSL.

The issues is that the audio to be recorded needs to go to the SRC before it is passed to the recording equipment. If you have a teleworkers and the teleworker server where you want to put the SRC blade is in the DMZ then the audio from internal sets need to be routable to the DMZ. Also since the recording equipment needs to communicate with the SRC then the Recording equipment would also need to route to the DMZ. Some sites might not allow that.

As already suggested if you need to record the teleworker sets you might not have a choice.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Anyone else and you need to throw it harder.

The SRC also supports indirect recording now, where the phone sends a second RTP stream direct to the CRE so the RTP no longer has to pass through the SRC. It now acts merely as a key holder to enable the CRE to decrypt the RTP stream.
This cuts down the bandwidth and the need to circumvent the firewall or DMZ.
Not all CRE equipment supports indirect recording so this might not be applicable to your setup.
