Hi all,

It's been ages since I used Teleworker and I do not have any documentation so would anyone know how to access the admin web page for the Teleworker server?

<ip address>/server-manager

Thanks Paterson,

Do you recall what the default user and pw are or is that blank? Anyway to reset those?

There is no default password. The default username is admin but you set the password on the initial configuration. If you don't know the password, then the only way to reset the password would be to do a complete re-install.

Thanks again paterson,

I obtained the password for the web admin page and from there I was able to grab the installer password that the phone continues to prompt for. Upon reboot the phone now displays:

"USE Superkey to SEND PIN"

I have no idea what it is looking for. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry for all the questions. Thank you very much for your time.

Use Superkey to Send PIN" is a message from the Mitel phone system. That is good news in that your IP set is able to register with the Teleworker server and the Teleworker server is passing the set to the phone system.

The message you are now seeing means that the phone system has no record of the MAC address of the IP set, so it does not know what extension the set needs to be. Once the MAC is "registered" to an extension, you will never see that message again.

So, how do you register the set? There are two ways. There should be a Feature Access Code programmed on the system. When you find that code, dial it on the key pad + the extension you want the set to be, then press the Blue Superkey. If the "Use Superkey to Send PIN" message stays on the set, then that means you either already have a MAC assigned to that extension or the extension is programmed for a different set type.

The other way is to go into the programming of the extension and manually enter in the MAC of the phone. FYI, the MAC is labled under each set.

If you need more help, we need to know what type of Mitel phone system.

Hi Paterson,

I got it working. Reading your post reminded me what that message meant. The phone system should have a record because we enter the MAC address and extension into it before we register it with the Teleworker. So there's a good chance I mistyped the MAC address. I logged into the 3300 and sure enough, that was the problem. Amazing that all it takes is one typo it give you a few hours of grief.....

Out of curiousity paterson, what feature code would allow one to register the mac and extension from the phone?

Also, you know when you plug in an IP phone and it starts downloading. On the teleworker phones it seems to go on alot farther...into the 900's before it stops. I've seen my phone vendor change a setting on the phone so that it stops sooner but I do not know what he changed. If you know what I'm referring to that would be helpful.

I just tested the phone on an outside network and other than the long download process on bootup everything works. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction paterson!

Glad I could be of help.

As to where the code is, look in the System Options Form. In there you will see two options.

1) IP set registration (I think the Mitel default is ***)
2) IP set replacement (I think the Mitel default is ###)

You can change these codes to what ever you want. You definately need the first code for applications like Your Assistant, IP conferencing (VCON), 6510 Messaging Server. The second code comes in handy if you have a bad set and are doing a swap of hardware. Just unplug the first set, plug in the replacement set and wait for the enter PIN message, put in the replacement code with the ext DN and that's it, the new MAC is registered to the old extension DN. That is of course assuming that the replacement set is not registered already on the system as another DN(yes, I have had to explain that to some customers).

As for the numbers on the download to the set, I'm not sure. I have noticed that the numbers are different, but never dug deep enough to find out why.

Anyone else out there that knows????

Reading something in your last post prompts me to add this.

In order to use the IP set registration code, you have to first build the extension in the system. Just leave the MAC address field blank and the code will fill it in later. Not a real big deal when you are only adding one or two, but a huge time saver on the initial install of sets!!
